Essential Information

The following information is to assist you in planning your holiday at Bells Cottage.  It includes the available facilities and possible restrictions for some potential guests.  If you have any questions relating to any of these items, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Access Statement

There is a slight ledge getting into the property and a very small 2 inch step into the kitchen area.  The stars upstairs turn three steps up and there is a banister all the way up.

Although the bathroom is on the ground floor, both bedrooms are on the first floor of the cottage making it unsuitable for wheelchair users.

We currently do not have facilities for the deaf or hard of hearing installed in the property.

The garden is flat at the front and on one side there is a slop up to the rear garden but on the other the rear garden can be access through a side gate.  There is a drop off in the rear garden with a 2ft retaining wall.

Full directions will be sent to you after confirmation of booking

Departures - please vacate the property by 10am to enable us to prepare the cottage for future guests

Please take care not to move furniture within the cottage as it may damage it or the property.

A full basket of logs and kindling will be provided for the log burner.  Extra logs can be provided on request at cost from our local supplier.

Kitchen equipment

Time and effort has been taken to ensure that Bells Cottage is very well equipped.  Such kitchen equipment includes dishwasher, washing machine, double ovens, electric hob and microwave.  Smaller items are hand blender, magimix food processor, electric hand whisk, electric slow cooker, coffee maker, kettle and toaster.  We also have a range of crockery, cutlery and glassware, pans and frying pans, baking sheets, pizza trays, cake trays, utensils etc.

Breakages

We appreciate that accidents do happen and politely request that all breakages are paid for.

Parking

Two parking spaces are provided for the cottage itself but we have the space to accommodate more if required.  Luggage will only need to be carried a short distance to the property.

Car Charging

We have facilities for 2 electric car charging points (1 tethered and 1 non tethered).  We politely ask for a £10 contribution for a weeks worth of charging per vehicle if you wish to make use of this facility.

We have a barn area to which you may have a key access to (on request) that you can store your bicycles.

We can provide a travel cot and high chair free of charge upon request.  If you would like bedding for this it can also be provided upon request.  The cot is only suitable for children under 2 years of age.  We also have stair gates and children's cutlery and plates.

We provide children's books, DVD's and some games as well.

Dogs

We absolutely welcome our well behaved canine friends, please advise us on the number of dogs and we will provide bowls, spare leads, treats and bedding if required.  We have an outdoor hose for cleaning muddy paws and you will have access to the barn which has a doggy grooming room including dog hairdryers and grooming tables  All of these items are used at your own risk.  We also have a dog freezer for those of our canine guests who are fed on raw food and a tumble dryer in the barn which can be used for drying any items but please ensure that you only dry items when you are around at the cottage.  If you require any dog food for your stay then we can purchase this on your behalf if you let us know.  Prices can be provided and we will accept payment on commencement of your stay.  We politely ask that pets do not sleep on the beds ( unless you wish to bring all of your own bedding) and we provide throws for those who like to cuddle on the sofa!

Barbecues and outdoor facilities

The garden is only partially fenced at the front and by no means totally secure, however we have now fenced and enclosed the back garden although we cannot 100% guarantee it is "escape proof".  It is mostly laid to grass with a small patio area to the front and side of the property.  We provide an outdoor metal table, parasol and chairs and a gas BBQ can also be provided on request.  We respectfully ask that due to the thatched nature of the property that no coal or wood BBQ's are used here.

Heating and lighting

Electricity and heating is included in the cost of your holiday.  We have installed eco-friendly energy saving lightbulbs in the property.

We provide free wifi in the cottage for our guests but mobile coverage in our area is limited so we also provide a landline which gives you free UK landline calls only.
